Daily cartoon color challenge or unlimited practice

Toon Recolor is a free browser-based color memory game built around 40 original characters. The daily challenge gives everyone the same five-character sequence for the current UTC date. Unlimited Practice stays open after the daily game and draws another random five from all worlds or one world you choose.

No account, download, rating claim, or leaderboard is required. You can also browse all Toon Recolor color memory games, try the unofficial Pokémon color quiz, or test unfamiliar geometry in the original fictional mark game.

Use HSL controls to match the color or colour

  1. Find the color family — Decide whether the target is warm or cool, then place its hue.
  2. Judge its intensity — Move saturation toward muted, vivid, or somewhere between.
  3. Match its lightness — Decide how close the shade is to black, the middle, or white.
  4. Compare the result — View both versions and see the perceptual distance for the round.

What is Toon Recolor?

Toon Recolor is a free browser-based color memory game. You study an original character, then rebuild one missing color using hue, saturation, and lightness controls.

How do the daily challenge and Unlimited Practice differ?

The daily challenge uses the same date-based five-character sequence for everyone each UTC day. Unlimited Practice stays open and selects a fresh random five-character set from all worlds or one chosen world.

Is Toon Recolor affiliated with Toon Tone?

No. Toon Recolor is an independent color memory game with its own name, original characters, local artwork, and scoring implementation. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by Toon Tone.

How is the Toon Recolor score calculated?

The reference and guessed colors are converted to Lab color and compared with Delta E 76. A smaller perceptual distance earns a higher score, up to 100 points per round and 500 per game.

Is the artwork original?

Yes. The characters are rendered locally from original SVG shapes made for Toon Recolor. No third-party character images or remote artwork assets are loaded.

Does it work on mobile?

Yes. The interface, artwork, sliders, and result cards are responsive for phones, tablets, and desktops.
